Pastoralia, Episode 3: Godparents, General Confession, and What is Permissible on Sundays

Fr. Stephen McKenna

Fr. Stephen McKenna

On this month's episode of Pastoralia we will be discussing several topics that face Catholics at some point in time in their lives.

We will be starting with Godparenting - how many "children" should I have, who's qualified, can I ask a priest, what are the qualifications, etc. We will move into the clerical dress topic of clericals vs. cassocks - is Father a modernist for wearing clericals? We will then talk Sundays - so what "can" we do on Sundays?  More importantly, what should we be doing to make the day holy?

Just in time for lent, we will broach the topic of general Confession and all the particulars behind this important and necessary spiritual practice. Closing out the show, we will touch on the topic of head covering for ladies. What about veils vs. mantillas vs. napkins vs. hats - Is this a matter of taste or of church law?

Join us on this episode of Pastoralia as Fr. Stephen McKenna and Stephen Heiner discuss these issues and provide further clarity to questions that never seem to get asked.
