We know how much they're appreciated, and yet, we procrastinate and then forget until we read something like this piece on The Practicing Catholic, "The Lost Art of a Handwritten Note".

Encouraging your children to send handwritten thank-you notes is one of the 25 etiquette rules they should know by the age of nine, via Tea at Trianon.

Tradition in Action shares a Scottish Jacobite song that is perfect for a family sing-along, "Wha Wadna' Fecht for Charlie", providing the pertinent biographical information, an mp3 version of the song sung by The Corries, and the sheet music.  Boys will love the drumming!
