American small towns have been on life support since the end of WWII.  The development of factory farming by giant corporations played a big role in their demise, but this Urban Plains article looks at the problem from the point of view of one woman in one town, and it's fascinating.  A long read, about 7 pages, HT to FPR.

The Vatican is working with modernists again.   This time it's Google.  Seriously.  The Vatican and Google worked together so that you can now take a virtual tour of the Catacomb of Priscilla's galleries via Google Maps, according to this article in The Catholic Herald.   Writing for New Liturgical Movement, Gregory DiPippo covers the same story but with an emphasis on correcting all the errors in other news stories, especially that there are pictures of women priests on the walls.
