For We are Cleansed by Prayer

St. Casimir

A Childlike Encounter with God:  Writing for NLM, Peter Kwasniewski outlines a method for implementing the practice of lectio divina, otherwise known as praying with the Scriptures, during Lent and hopefully beyond.

"Fr." Peter Carota lists many ways that we sin because we are looking for love in the modern world, when what we should be doing is practicing Christian charity.  He recommends reading St. Paul’s letter, 1 Corinthians 13:1-13, every morning during Lent with the goal of putting it in practice all day long.

This Vultus Christi post lights the way to arriving at Easter with a heart "pierced and broken" for Christ, by making use of the "disciplines that tradition gives us — fasting and abstinence, almsgiving, silence, keeping vigil, and lectio divina."
