Jonah as a Model For Lent

Our Founder, Stephen Heiner, wrote about a week back Steady as she goes: First Sunday of Lent. He writes encouraging words. "Know that the tempting, the badgering, the silly ideas that the devil holds up to us (far less grandiose that what was offered to Our Lord in the desert) has an end."

On the same subject, Richard Cipolla writes for Rorate Cæli Sermon for First Sunday in Lent. "Lent is an opportunity to use the grace of God to convert our stony hearts into hearts on fire with the love of God."

Finally, Peter Kwasniewski writes for New Liturgical Movement, The Unlikely Prophet Jonah as a Model for Us in Lent. Peter writes how Jonah was not willing to accept God, however, God did not give up on him. Eventually, Jonah embraced God's grace.
