On the final episode of Season 3 for Catholic History with Charles Coulombe, we discuss the ever-present topic in traditional Catholic circles of Freemasonry.
Knowing that this is a subject about which there lies an immense amount of confusion, we reflect firstly on what the Popes have said in their writings about Freemasonry, examine why exactly they said it, give a general overview of the craft, and talk about why it is so hard for the average person who does not have the Catholic faith to accurately define what Freemasonry is, while at the same time believing wittingly or unwittingly the precepts of Freemasonry.
We start off the meat of the discussion by hearing a timeline and genesis of
Freemasonry, oft disputed as it is, and we discuss the differences between ancient vs. modern Freemasonry, colonial vs. continental Freemasonry, and the differences of how masonry grew in various parts of the world.
The structural order of the craft is examined, the explanations are given of Blue Lodge Masonry where a mason begins, then having to face the choice of moving beyond the 4th degree into York or Scottish Rite masonry and what the differences both implied and historical are between the two. Terminology which is usually confusing will be discussed, and a look into deeper aspects of the craft such as how one ascends the ranks, what operative and speculative masonry are, and why the latter is almost completely unknown to the average lower ranks.
We wrap the show up by talking about Freemasonry's War with the Church, it's influence in Mormonism, its role in the American Revolution of 1776 as well as the French Revolution of 1789, it's geopolitical influence to this very day, and just how much clout it has to this day in pulling the strings of the New World Order's puppets.
Join us as our distinguished guest Charles A. Coulombe closes out Season 3 by talking with hosts Justin Soeder and Nicholas Wansbutter about the ever-interesting and Catholic discussion on the secret society of Freemasonry.
