From the Pulpit, Episode 26: (Holy Week Series) Bishop Sanborn’s Easter Sermon

Bishop Donald Sanborn

Bishop Donald Sanborn

On this episode of From the Pulpit, we conclude our Holy Week and Easter Triduum series with a sermon from His Excellency, Bishop Donald Sanborn, rector of Most Holy Trinity Seminary in Brooksville, Florida.

What does Our Lord's rising from the dead mean in the history of mankind? Why was this most sublime and miraculous event the result of a perfect obedience of Our Lord to the will of His Father? In the history of mankind going back to our first parents, the influence of rationalism has destroyed perfect obedience to the will of God, replacing with an arrogant pride of man to know what is good and what is evil.

Listen carefully as His Excellency, in his usual fashion, takes down one-by-one the false and evil principles by which modern man damns himself in his quest to make the determination of what is good and what is evil. Modern society has inverted the order of God, calling evil good, and good evil. And Our Lord's Resurrection stands alone in the history of time in conquering Satan, all of mankind's affliction of sin, and opening to mankind once again everlasting life.
