Saint Gonsalo Garcia, O.F.M. (1556-1597)

Saint Gonsalo Garcia, O.F.M.
(1556-1597)

While wandering a little past the chapel that houses the body of St. Vincent de Paul, and the Chapel of the Miraculous Medal, both churches within the Rue de Bac neighborhood of Paris, Stephen Heiner recently discovered the church and museum of the Mission Etrangers: the Foreign Missions. While the Missions' work today is perhaps quite different from its purpose as conceived to propagate the Faith, it has a truly glorious history.

Listen as guest Charles Coulombe explains the original primacy of the Portuguese and Spanish in evangelization new colonies, and how the French assumed the mantle as those nations went into decline in their respective empires. Charles also walks us through some of the historical implications many years after in the Southeast-Asia region.

We hope you enjoy this final Flagship episode of Season 3.
