The Catholic attitude is one with a deep respect for authority: the authority of God, the authority of the Church, the authority of husband and father as head of the family, the authority of the state, the authority of the teacher in the classroom et cetera.
On the other hand, the modern mentality repudiates the notion of authority and invites people to only accept constraints on their activities that they choose and consent to.
This repudiation of authority is seen everywhere in the modern world - from the modern home, where children answer back their parents and wives disrespect their husbands, to the modern workplace, where employees disrespect their employers.
Secondly, one’s family life is most often the cause of the fate of an individual. One of the most important things of the household is the hierarchy. If the hierarchy of the household is destroyed, the family collapses.
We must reject modern culture as it is not pleasing to God, is Anti-Catholic and most often leads to disaster – for ourselves and for those around us.
