In this episode our new host Matthew Gaskin is joined by Bishop Donald Sanborn to discuss an article that his Excellency authored back in 1991. The article described the three main groups of opposition to Vatican II: the Ecclesia Dei group, the SSPX group and the sedevacantist group.
Despite being 24 years old the article is as relevant today as it was when it was written and so, as part of True Restoration's Anti-Modernist Reader series, we revisit it now for some in-depth analysis.
Both the Ecclesia Dei solution and the sedevacantist solution are clear and easy to understand. The SSPX solution is more difficult to understand and so we cover it here in greater detail.
His Excellency discusses all three positions, their fundamental principles and the logical conclusions that Catholics must draw when they are confronted with the application of Catholic dogma.
This is a must-listen show for those Catholics pondering the problem of the Novus Ordo in the time of Bergoglio. It is also particularly pertinent in a time when the SSPX is making ever stronger overtures for a reconciliation with modernist Rome.
