Father Bede Nkamuke
In this inaugural episode of Sacred Scripture, Father Bede Nkamuke discusses two passages from Scripture: one from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament.
The Old Testament passage is from Genesis and is about Creation. Father discusses the specific order of creation, its genius and purpose, and how even in the most elemental way God is giving humanity a model on how to live via the Sabbath day.
In the New Testament passage we look at the Gospel of St. Luke and the story concerning Zachary and Elizabeth and the prophecy concerning the Messias and St. John the Baptist. We examine the importance of prayer, unanswered prayers, the importance of the Messias to the Jewish people, and the fact that even the just can be amazed by the ways of the Lord.
