Children’s Literature: Feeding their growing little minds. Part 2
What pure joy there is for a child’s eyes to be opened to a new world through literature! They can travel to distant lands or bygone eras, and into the lives of heroes. How very true were the words of Fr. Finn, “One of the greatest things in the world is to get the right book into the hands of the right boy or girl. No one can indulge in reading to any extent without being largely influenced for better or worse.”
In a world filled with absolute filth, and those who seek to corrupt children from earliest youth, what a breath of fresh air it is to find a wholesome story which will uplift our little ones and fill them with the holiest of ideals. To present heroes to them, big and small, and particularly everyday role models – boys and girls just like them – who do nothing more but truly live their Faith, as they journey joyfully along this adventure of life.
