Introducing a new show for Season 3: Trad Reviews, the show dedicated reviewing and critiquing books, films, and board games.
Books, films, and games have been with us for quite some time. The modern Catholic, as the Medieval Catholic, has to strive to be "in the world, not of it." What TradReviews was as a website before it was ever a radio show was an attempt to do exactly that. With the Legion of Decency gone and the Index of Forbidden Books unknown to most Catholics, what kind of guide is there for those families who want to raise Catholic, not Amish, children?
This episode will discuss the historical importance of the Legion of Decency and how and why we need to carry that same spirit forward today, the Index of Forbidden Books and what books Catholics should avoid, as well as a brief review of two movies that came out recently that will be on DVD soon, Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game and Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
One of the Network's earliest shows was on The Hunger Games and covering the sequel in this episode is a bookend to that original episode.
Join us as host Stephen Heiner is joined by guest Charles A. Coulombe who talks candidly about these topics and more.
Please note that while we are glad to have Mr. Coulombe for his historical knowledge, we must note to our viewers, that he was a guest solely for historical matters, and not for commentary on religion. We do not recommend Mr. Coulombe's other works outside of this context on True Restoration as his views do not necessarily represent the traditional teachings of the Catholic Church, and by extension, True Restoration and its team.
