by Paul Kengor
Almost all Traditional Catholics know that Communism is a thoroughly wicked ideology condemned by the Church – however, many would be shocked to read the downright demonic writings of Karl Marx!
The Devil and Karl Marx: Communism's Long March of Death, Deception, and Infiltration by Professor Paul Kengor offers the reader a detailed examination of the demonic influence of Karl Marx’s spiritual life, or more precisely, his devotion to the demonic and destruction of religion.
While it is true that most faithful Catholics understand the terrible evil of Marx’s ideology called Communism, many know little about the influence of Marx’s personal Satanic beliefs found in his writings. Perhaps most notably on this, Marx wrote:
“Thus heaven I’ve forfeited, I know it full well. My soul, once true to God, is chosen for Hell.”
It is the vital importance of understanding the demonic influence on Marx’s life, work and belief which Kengor demonstrates clearly in this work. He says: “No other theory in all of history has led to the deaths of so many innocents. How could the Father of Lies not be involved?” So it is not sufficient for a Catholic to be aware of the evil of Communism, but to also understand the depth of Marx’s strange and disturbing infatuation with the demonic so that he may properly understand the enemies of the Church – who persist in the battle even today.
Unlike other books which may discuss the subject of Marx’s relationship with the demonic, The Devil and Karl Marx further expounds upon the relationship of the Church and State under Communist regimes including interesting sections titled “The Bolshevik War on Religion and the Church’s Resistance,” “Infiltration of Catholic Seminaries? Bella Dodd’s Claims” and “Churches, and Clergy Behind the Iron Curtain.” It is in these parts of his book where Kengor offers a truly unique evaluation of Marx, Communism and the enduring scourge it is to the world – which is not found in similar books.
