Powerful.  Boniface at Unam Sanctam Catholicam relates two tales that clearly impart the importance of tradition, even when the reasons behind it are lost.

An unusual study on melatonin in the larvae of the marine worm Platynereis dumerilii makes interesting observations about how the sleep-regulating hormone works.  Of course the scientists' hypothesis "hints" at making the creatures our ancestors.  After close study of the picture included in the NYT article, this editor concluded there could indeed be not only a human connection, but a Catholic one, as there is a strong resemblance between the larva and tonsured monks.  More study is definitely needed.
